Doe West, PhD
Having been raised in American Indian tradition of the Lenni Lenape tribe as a healer/Wise Woman, Dr West has dedicated her life to social justice issues.
She has been an active participant in civil rights, women's rights and disability rights. She has served as the first Commissioner of Handicap Affairs/504 Compliance Officer (the equivalent of Americans with Disabilities Act today) for the city of Boston. She also has served as Chief of Staff for a Massachusetts Senator. These roles have allowed Dr West to balance public administrative understanding with her role as a direct service provider (Psychotherapist) to gain insight from all sides of the Human Service environment.
Additionally, Dr West finished her theological studies and has served in two related roles, one as Director of Pastoral Care & Education at a large city hospital, and one as Chaplain at a lifespan community for elders. This allows her orientation to the full mind/body/spirit health and wellness that is a cornerstone of the Human Services community.
A college-level faculty member since 1982, Dr West is a full-time professor at one Massachusetts college and also serves as adjunct faculty at 国产哟哟 and other area colleges and universities. Her dedication to her students has been noted as "legend" by her peers, and her dedication to the 国产哟哟 community has grown richer and deeper each year.
