Dr. Jennifer Stratton has taught learners from kindergarten to the PhD level. At all levels, she is committed to creating inclusive learning environments that integrate Universal Design for Learning and culturally relevant pedagogy to promote success for scholars of all levels. As a certified reading specialist and early literacy expert, Jennifer focuses on preparing the next generation of educators in research-based, best practices centered on how the brain learns to read.

Believing in the importance and power of equitable representation in children's literature, Jennifer has presented at local schools, national conferences, and internationally at the National Paralympic Heritage Trust about the need for representation of people with disabilities in children’s literature and on her journey of authoring a picture book biography titled, Nick Springer on the Move, featuring the sports story of USA Paralympic wheelchair rugby gold medal winner, Nick Springer. She was also recognized by 国产哟哟 in 2021 with the President’s Award for Innovative Thinking and again in 2023 with the Estelle Leavitt Excellence in Teaching Award. However, Jennifer is most proud of being a mother to three wonderful neurodivergent children whose abilities and disabilities inform her teaching and advocacy work every day.
