Applied Data Science (MS) Curriculum
The MS in Applied Data Science degree from 国产哟哟 consists of 30 credits, 10 courses, and is offered completely online.
Our students come from a diverse backgrounds, with experience in social sciences, life sciences, management, and economics, as well as, more technical areas such as mathematics, engineering, and computer science. Both our Generalist Track and Specialist Track offer a broad curriculum that covers all major data science topics.
Choose from two tracks:
- Utilize your industry expertise in collaboration with data science specialists to prioritize opportunities provided by big data. Learn how digitization, big data, machine learning and AI are being used in organizations. Your knowledge and perspective will make you an invaluable resource on an applied data science team.
All students in the MS Applied Data Science/Generalist Track are required 10 courses, 30 credits.
The four foundational courses for this track have the necessary coverage of statistics and machine learning without the requirement of higher math and focus on applications to real-world data problems.
- - Utilize your math, statistics, and computational aptitude skills to mine large data sets and streams. Learn how to use industry-specific algorithms, machine learning, and even deep learning to help industry professionals uncover new market opportunities, greater efficiencies, optimal performance, and so much more.
All students in the MS Applied Data Science/Specialist Track are required to complete 10 courses, 30 credits.
The four foundational courses in this track take a deeper dive into theory (than the Generalist track) and require an additional math background.
Students will choose their track at the end of the first course, ADS 521 Foundation of Data Science, which combines an introduction to data science and a comprehensive math review.
