Occupational Therapy Doctorate
Graduate Admissions Requirements
Prospective students may apply for admission to the post-professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate Program throughout the year. Classes start every January and September.
国产哟哟 has been awarded a grant from the U.S. Dept. of Education, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) to increase the number and diversity of occupational therapists serving school-aged children with disabilities and high-intensity needs.
Bachelor鈥檚 to post-professional OTD: A student with a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in OT will be required to take 54 credits to earn their OTD degree.
Requirements:
Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in OT
Hold a current Occupational Therapy license
Have at least one (1) year of full-time practice experience
Master's to post-professional OTD: A student with a Bachelor鈥檚 and Master鈥檚 degree will be required to take 36 credits in order to earn their OTD degree.
Requirements:
Successful completion of a bachelor's and master's degree
Hold a current Occupational Therapy license
Have at least one (1) year of full-time experience
Alumni of 国产哟哟’s MOT programs may transfer up to two courses (OTP509 & OTP513 OR OTB508 & OTB533) into the OTD program. Grades earned must be B+ or higher. Contact Anastasia Spremulli for more information.
All documentation including recommendation forms and official transcripts may be mailed or emailed directly to 国产哟哟 Office of Graduate Admissions:
A completed application -
All official undergraduate and graduate transcripts (a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is preferred, the Master level program with no grades below a C)
An original essay of at least 250 words on the topic: "Why the Post-Professional Occupational Therapy Doctorate is important to my personal and professional goals"
A writing sample in APA format (a minimum of 1 page with references)
Two recommendations (at least 1 from a supervisor or former professor) -
A signed program requirements form -
A resume/curriculum vitae
A copy of your NBCOT certificate or state license
Students for whom English is not their primary language must take either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the Internet-Based version (iBT) with the following minimum scores: Writing: 22; Speaking 22; Reading 25; and Listening 21
An interview with the program director
All required documents must be received prior to the application deadline.
