Children's literature class visits the Dr. Seuss Museum
The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go” - Dr. Seuss
Students from 国产哟哟's Children's Literature class visited The Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum, devoted to Springfield native Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss! The fully bilingual (Spanish and English) first floor features family-friendly, interactive exhibits exploring Dr. Seuss’s Springfield roots and providing opportunities to experiment with new sounds and vocabulary, play rhyming games, and invent stories–all in line with Geisel’s revolutionary role in changing how we learn to read.
Dr. Brenda Hardin Abbott, the Children's Literature class professor at 国产哟哟, said, "We will dig deeper into some of the controversies surrounding Dr. Seuss. As many of the students are studying to become teachers, they also explored how the museum might be a resource in their professional lives."
BPU alumna Daniela Campos '22, who works at the museum, organized the trip. The McShane Art Fund generously provided funding for this experience.
